A Parent-Organized Preschool
Portland Tillamook Preschool is a private, non-profit, parent-organized preschool in Portland, Oregon. The school was founded by a group of parents in 1973. It offers a play-based, multi-age environment for children ages three (or almost three) through five.
Parental involvement is the foundation of our school’s success, and it helps make the preschool experience rewarding for both children and their families. We all work together, with the teacher, to make the school a supportive and challenging place for our children to grow.
Our parents administer the school through an elected board. Our teacher, Anette Horten, began teaching for us in 2002. She strongly believes in Tillamook's philosophy of providing an anti-bias environment and a play-based curriculum.
Location
The preschool is located in rooms and grounds rented from Laurelhurst Presbyterian Church at 935 NE 33rd St. (at Pacific St). We have no religious affiliation to this or any other church.
Cooperative Preschool Fair
Come and meet Portland Cooperative Preschool representatives for information on their schools, collect applications for the 2012-2013 school year, and learn about the cooperative school experience. The fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Portland Tillamook Preschool, 935 NE 33rd St., inside the Presbyterian Church of Laurelhurst.
